LEXCELLENCE AG in 2023 – reflections and summary

As the new year 2024 begins, we reflect on 2023 and highlight key moments for LEXCELLENCE AG, our partners, colleagues, and friends. We actively participated in discussions and initiatives throughout the year, our team covered thematic areas including MiCA, staking services, IT matchmaking, DeFi and FinTech solutions, AI and cybersecurity, blockchain implementation, and data protection. With travels to international locations like Singapore, Amsterdam, Warsaw, Krakow, Zurich, and more, we shared knowledge and expertise. LEXCELLENCE AG also contributed to workshops on the revised Swiss Data Protection Act and explored, during numerous events, the vision for Polish entrepreneurs and collaboration between Poland and Switzerland in the realms of the economy, artificial intelligence, technology, and blockchain.

Crypto Valley Association publication: 'Paper on Staking Services on Proof-of-Stake Protocols' by the CVA Regulatory Working Group led by Dr. Katharina Lasota Heller and Reto Luthiger | December 12, 2023 | Paper is reflecting the Swiss crypto industry's critical regulatory moment concerning crypto staking
2. “CEE Swiss IT Matchmaking Summit 2023” by SEC where LEXCELLENCE was a Gold Partner of the Summit | November 28, 2023 | Definitely, it was a must-attend event for AI, tech, and innovation discussions. Speed networking, expert panels, and workshops.
3. “FinReg 2023: ALLERHAND FINANCIAL REGULATION CONGRESS” in Warsaw | November 17, 2023 | In the panel dedicated to DeFi and FinTech solutions in the Polish financial market Dr. Katharina Lasota Heller highlighted the extraordinary potential that Poland has in taking advantage of the new MiCA regulations and the development of regulations on the blockchain, DLT, cryptocurrencies and #CBDCs.
4. Singapore Fintech Festival 2023 (November 15-17) & Poland-ASEAN Fintech Forum (November 14) | During the panel “Global Threats: Working together to build resilience. Cybersecurity and AI for good practice” – Dr. Katharina Lasota Heller was discussing legal aspects of AI and cybersecurity.
5. “Jak polski przedsiębiorca może wykorzystać blockchain?” (“How can Polish entrepreneurs take advantage of blockchain?”) – episode of the podcast series "Przyspiesz Biznes" from Apfino during which Dr. Katharina Lasota Heller explains: (i) the principles of blockchain; (ii) blockchain implementation in different industries; (iii) the differentiation of doing business in Switzerland versus Poland | October 5, 2023.
6. ITechLaw Conference 2023 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands organized by the International Technology Law Association (ITechLaw) | October 18-20, 2023 | Dr. Katharina Lasota Heller & Florian Müller represented LEXCELLENCE AG as one of the sponsors of so insightful 3-days conference about tech, law and newest regulations.
7. Swiss Digital Finance Conference 2023: "Artificial intelligence in financial services – will the unbanked be left out again?" | LEXCELLENCE AG was one of the sponsors of #DFC23 |  September 27, 2023 | Dr. Katharina Lasota Heller together with prominent speakers guided the audience through the importance of AI in the Financial Services and its legal aspects.
8. The 3rd Polish Economic & Technology Forum in Switzerland in Bern | LEXCELLENCE AG was one of the Forum partners |  September 18 & 19, 2023 |  Dr. Katharina Lasota Heller discussed in one of the panels about blockchain, AI, digital finance, and economy.

Florian Müller & Dr. Katharina Lasota Heller as speakers during the SPBA symposium “SPBA Beyond Blockchain Finance, Luxury Goods, Sports, and Entertainment” in Warsaw, Poland | Florian Müller & Dr. Katharina Lasota Heller were speaking about legal aspects of blockchain and its implementation in various industries | September 4, 2023.
10. “Workshop Datenschutz in der Praxis” – series of WEKA workshops regarding GDPR and Data Protection conducted by Florian Müller | May 11, 2023 &  September 13, 2023 | Florian guided the audience into the innovations in data protection in the EU and Switzerland; reporting obligations in the event of data breaches; data protection projects and implementation issues; scope of application of the regulations for Swiss and EU companies.
11.  Comarch User Group Conference in Krakow | Dr. Katharina Lasota Heller met with Aleksander Kwaśniewski | May 10, 2023 | Event and talks were dedicated to topics like banking, insurance, loyalty, telecommunications, fintech.
12. “Das revidierte Schweizer Datenschutzgesetz (revDSG)”  – seminars about the revised Swiss Data Protection Act conducted by Florian Müller | April 19, 2023 & August 23, 2023 | Florian explained the latest developments in data protection law; criminal proceedings – risks and measures; the connection between IT and data protection.
13.  Dr. Katharina Lasota Heller met with Prof. Janusz Filipiak to talk about his book, vision for Polish entrepreneurs conquering the world, artificial intelligence and other passionate topics. | April 19, 2023
14.  ”Going Beyond Crypto – How Blockchain Security Will Boost your Business” organized by Swiss-Polish Blockchain Association | Carmen De la Cruz moderated the panel “The Need of Privacy Protection in Blockchain” |Dr. Katharina Lasota Heller moderated the panel: “World after Luna, Terra, and FTX. Do we need regulations? DAOs, DeFi, CBDS” | LEXCELLENCE AG was one of the partners of the event |  March 2, 2023.
15. Champagne & Art 2023 @LEXcellence | “Between the Worlds” exhibition on March 1, 2023 | We were delighted to meet together with our clients and friends. Watching beautiful paintings of Oksana Mathieu as well as listening to the entrancing music of Amelia Amanda (harp+vocals) while enjoying the champagne and amouse-bouches was a real pleasure.

We began the new year 2024 with our first “Champagne & Art” Vernissage of 2024 and exhibition of inspiring artists: Caterine Maiolo and Peter Schönenberger.
